| Job Description |

1. Look after & manage the patients under the guidance of the consultant.
2. In the absence of the Consultant to faithfully look after the patients along the indicated line of treatment.
3.To be an in-house consultant for all emergency situations encountered in the hospital.
4.Actively participate in presentations of CME?s and Journal clubs.
5.Assist the consultants in all emergency cases.
6.Participate actively in the teaching program of nursing staff and technicians.
7.Supervise all nursing/ para medical & non medical staff of the department to maintain discipline and high standard of medical care at the department as per standard operating procedure.
Assists the Consultant for:
Special material management requirement
Ensure quality of performance of the department
Complaint redressal of patients

| Candidate Profile |
:: |
1. Initial assessment and management of every patient coming to triage, deciding under which speciality and consultant the patient will go and communicating the condition of the patient to the consultant.
2. Management of patients in Triage, HDUs including performing procedures like intubation, central line placement and ventilatory management .
3. Sr.Resident posted in Triage/HDU is required to provide medical cover for the wards (A1, A3) during night.
4. Performing bedside procedures when a medical officer is either not available or is unsuccessful in doing so.
5. Sr.Resident on duty is required to answer the attendants? queries and to keep them updated in case of any fresh development in their patient?s condition.
6. Communicate any deterioration in the patient?s status to the respective consultant and to ensure that the consultant?s orders are carried out appropriately.
7. Receiving ambulance calls and ensuring timely dispatch of ambulance.
8. Arranging rooms / beds for patients in triage.
